What is the difference between pure titanium, beta titanium, and beta titanium alloys?

1. Pure titanium: refers to titanium metal material with titanium purity above 99%. Its high melting point, light material, strong corrosion resistance, strong plating layer. However, in the eyewear industry, pure titanium frames often refer to frames made of a titanium material.

2. β-Ti: refers to the titanium material that finishes β-particles cooling under time delay in titanium at the zero boundary state. Therefore, β titanium is not a titanium alloy. It is just that the titanium material exists in another molecular state, which is not the same as the so-called titanium alloy. Has better strength, fatigue resistance and environmental corrosion resistance than pure titanium and other titanium alloys, good shape plasticity, can be made into wire and sheet, more lightweight, used to make glasses, can get more shapes and styles , is a new generation of glasses production materials. For customers with high requirements on style and weight, the glasses of β-titanium materials can be completely used. Since the processing of β titanium is higher than that of pure titanium, generally only large factories and brands will produce, and the prices are higher than those of pure titanium glasses.

3, β titanium alloy: based on titanium, containing enough molybdenum, vanadium, chromium, iron and other β stable elements, at an appropriate cooling rate, it can be annealed to the β phase of the titanium alloy. Until now, there are few manufacturers of titanium materials for titanium eyeglass frames developed and manufactured by domestic companies. The production of β titanium alloy wire for eyeglasses frames is still in the stage of development in China. At present, the beta titanium alloy produced in Japan has the best performance.
